Nutty Talk... How much would a Paint Job be?

DON’T do it. It will never be as good as a factory paint job and will cost north of $10k to be done even sort of properly
And now, let me qualify myself. I’ve been a professional mechanic for over 20yrs, the vast majority with German vehicles. I spent a few years as the mechanic in a Mercedes and BMW licensed body shop. While I was there we had a customer that insisted on doing this on a BMW 7-Series. He decided that after a few months of ownership that he wanted a different color. Instead of working this out with the sales dept, he had us re-spray the car.
In order to do this properly, like the factory, would mean completely disassembling the vehicle to strip and re-paint the inside of the shell and the underside as well as the outside. We didn’t go to that length as it would cost probably north of $30k. In addition to the removable body panels being removed and disassembled by the body guy assigned to the car, I removed the engine, transmission, complete front suspension, all hoses & pipes, all sound deadening, all heat shields from the firewall forward. Then everything was sanded, prepped, primered, & painted as normal.
I don’t know a ton about body work or what makes a body guy competent but from what I experienced I worked with several very good body guys there. Every one of them said the same thing when learning about the situation.

Bingo. Many wrapped cars where I am. JLR dealer here was selling a Camo wrap D5 when we got ours. Lambos, Ferraris, Rollers, there's even a C3P0 chrome wrapped supercar in town (honestly forget what it was, was laughing so much). Lots of folks get matt wraps. Could be a PNW thing!

Money aside, say.... Chip Foose will do it for you, it ain't gonna be the same car again. Once you start taking it apart, to make it "factory" when you put it back, it just won't click right.
Now, if your car is pink, then I understand .

Wrap prices are all over the place. I just got quoted $7k for clear wrap. This is the southeast. I've heard DC and up into NYC, wrap prices are $10-12k. On the flipside I found a shop in Mississippi doing wraps for like, $4k.
Can't comment on quality, etc but the companies will spend ~$2-3k on wrap material alone. Rest is labor. So bigger cities = higher labor rates.
