Transfer case drain and refill

Transfer case drain and refill
So, I'm about to do the 64k service. I got the list of items to be done from the dealer. Most of it is "checks", but it includes oil/filter, fuel filter, cabin filter, intake filter and "renew transfer case oil, drain and fill plug washers"
Has anyone done this last bit? I'm keen to do everything else myself (as they seem straight forward) but I'm not sure what I'm getting into with the transfer case.
Thanks for the help!

I have done it a couple times on the LR3. Certainly will be the same on the D5. Super easy.
I'll try and find you the step by step procedure.
But you need adequate amount of proper spec transfer case oil (probably 75W-90 gear oil but I'm just guessing - I'd need to look it up).
Probably about a liter, again, I gotta check.
First you locate the fill plug on the side of the transfer case, and you get a wrench on it to make sure you can access it and loosen it. Crack it loose so you know you can get it out BEFORE you drain the transfer case.
Second you remove the drain plug and collect the liter or so of smelly gear oil.
Replace the drain plug.
Remove the fill plug. Use a small hand pump that fits on your oil container and some appropriate tubing to feed the oil from the pump to the fill hole.
Fill it until it starts to come out the fill hole.
Screw in the fill plug.
