Greetings!!
I'm taking possession of a new 2008 LR3 today. I was in the market for a new XJR when my dealer told me he had a great deal on a new Landrover. I had never even considered buying one because I thought they were too expensive for me. However, when he said $31,850 for a new fully loaded SE I took a second look. I've been very impressed with my test drive and my research on the internet.
Granted, there appear to be a lot of naysayers out there that comment on reliability. However, I heard the same thing when I bought my first Jag a few years back. Understandably, I have had some issues with my Jag but the service departement comes and picks it up, gives me a loaner and fixes it...so I can't complain. My history with US domestic brands was typically tenous due to poor service department behavior and willingness to fix my issues. I hope Landrover service will be as good.
I grew up in the great outdoors (Wyoming), and since I moving away for the Marines, then going away to school, I've not done too much outdoor living. With the LR3 my wife and I hope to get back to that. (Going camping in the Jaguar and/or sports car just never felt right).
I look forward to meeting each of you (albeit through a computer screen).
