Default long time lover, first time buyer

Hey,

My name is Mark. Bought my first Land Rover yesterday, 2001 Discovery II SE7. It is actually for my wife who wanted an SUV as she commutes to work and winter can be bad in Wisconsin. I have always loved the way they look but never really thought of actually buying one. Presently I have a Saab 9000 Aero that I have maintained myself over the past 5 years doing things from the clutch, exhaust, brakes and other smaller things. I also have a 79 VW Westy that in the past year and a half I have learned more about than any other vehicle I have ever owned thanks to TheSamba VW forums! I look forward to learning the ins & outs of this thing, which has already begun. Drove home yesterday about 150 miles, no problems. Today, running errands, over heating and no heat in the truck, hopefully just needs new thermostat?!?! Off to the forums.........

Cheers!
Mark J Schultz

Mark, STOP DRIVING ITNOW. These rigs don't like to run hot. It will do serious damage to the block/heads. Welcome to the forum.

Yes; the block is aluminum; overheat is a "STOP NOW" indication.
