Have a disco 4. Have experienced hesitant kickdown. Had gearbox serviced. When my Wife drove car no problems. Discovered because of my big feet (size 11) and steel toecap shoes that the left hand side of my shoe was slightly touching brake pedal was activating sensor and signalling to ECU that I was braking! So keep my foot away from brake pedal. It has worked!
So now problem free.
