New Land Rover Owner. Denver Colorado
Hi. I'm Zach Johnson. I just bought my first Land Rover last week. It is a 2000 Discovery 2 SE7. 113,000 original miles. Rebuilt engine with <4000 miles. Lot's of the 'problem areas' have already been worked on or replaced.
I traded from a 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. It was a fun truck, but this Land Rover has got it beat on so many levels.
Problems out of the gate (which had me spending hours on this forum already) are the water sloshing sound behind the dash. I'm slowly bleeding the air out. Seems like it's getting better. The 'three amigos' have come on once, but disappeared promptly. Maybe some vibrations at higher speeds... still looking into this one.
Eventually I'd like to get a modest lift, some all terrain tires and a roof rack. For now, just settling in and enjoying it.
I have no experience wheeling (aside from a terrifying experience on Schofield Pass at night) so if anyone is willing to show me the ropes, I'd appreciate it!
Also, my true passion is cycling (mountain, road, cyclocross) so if anyone wants to go on some wheeling/camping/cycling adventures, I'm game.
Later,
-Zach

I urge you to read as many posts on here as possible. They have made life so much easier, and I have only had mine since February. Get a decent code reader that will read more than just engine fault codes, ABS, SRS, etc.
As many will attest, try to replace defective parts with OEM brands.
