Default new from Oklahoma

Hello, I just found this forum so I signed up.
I am planning on buying a 96 Land Rover Discovery in the next couple of days.
He is asking 4000 for it. Is there anything I need to look at closely?
I am used to Jeeps and K5's.
Thanks,

$4000 is big bucks for a D1. I'd expect it to be like new or have a bunch of cool add-ons that are the same kind I'd buy for myself.

Too many things to name on a land rover. I'd recommend someone professional look at it. Preferably a land rover specialist.

Welcome to the board. I'm an Okie also. That does seem a little high for a D1. Hopefully some of the D1 guys will chime in for you. If you are around the Tulsa area, I can give you a couple places to have it checked out.

Hello,
Well, I went to check out the truck today. The ad showed it as a 96, but when I got there it turned out to be a 1998 LE. I am a new proud owner of a Land Rover, with brand new 33" Nitto Trail Grapplers, roof rack and ARB winch bumper with winch. Drove it about 120 miles back home.

Nice. I don't think your spare is quite up to snuff though.
