New Roverer from Tennessee!
Hey guys! I'm Alex. I'm from East Tennessee and my father and I just recently traded our 1998 Acura CL for a 1998 Land Rover Discovery, great condition. We are stoked about this transition. But myself, the son, love to drive...excitingly. Therefore, I have many wishes for this Rover, including but not limited to;
-Cold Air Intake (Increased MPG)
-Back Door Roof Ladder
-New relays to enable the back windows to go down.
-Tune Up (I've heard a lot about SeaFoam)
-Refurbishing the brush guard
-New rear bumper marker light lenses
-And what I'm most excited about, adding a roof rack ($) and Fog lights.
But in all these ventures, I'm looking to not spend over $500.00. (Is this feasible?)
I love learning about this unique machines and I'm all ears, though I may post periodically. And as long as you guys don't mind questions from a rookie I look forward to being an active member of this forum!

First off....Welcome! I grew up in middle Tennessee, and East Tennessee is a great place to own a Rover.
Secondly to your wish list :
- Increasing MPG's - Don't hold your breath, not a lot you can do to really increase MPG's on these beasts, but take a look at DiscoMike's 60K Service and that will get you one the right track. USE THE HIGHEST GRADE GAS POSSIBLE, I think I remember that being 93 octane in TN? Don't skimp, your engine will pay the price.
---> with everything you listed including the maintenance you'll want to do, it'll be tough to stay under $500, especially if you plan on buying a roof rack, but crazier things have happened!
Good luck with your new Disco and Happy Rovering!
