I've always liked the look of the Discovery and recently I picked up a LR3 which is my first Land Rover. I sold my 4runner to join the club and have to say that I really enjoy the LR3 much more so far. I bought an 07 LR3 SE in Black with the cold weather package and navigation, 115k miles, excellent maintenance history with regular oil changes, for $9k. Had it PPI'd and came back with a leaking strut. The only other things wrong were a loose aux input, one button on the radio is stuck, only came with one key that doesn't work remotely, and the hood and rear hatch struts are bad.
I had a local specialist replace the strut. I replaced the hood and rear hatch struts. Changed the oil and front and rear diffs. Will change the rest of the fluids during the next oil change. Ordered a Gap tool and two keys from Lucky 8 and reprogrammed them. I don't plan on doing much other than regular maintenance since I don't do anything more than some occasional light off roading. This will also be my daily driver. But I hope to have many years of driving this truck.
I do have to thank everyone on the various forums. From all the reading I've done on many posts the Land Rover community seems to be helpful, fun, and mostly positive. It's a nice change from some of the othr cars I've owned in the past.
I'll try to post some pics to imgur to share with everyone. Also I'm not sure why I can't see pics on other posts? Any ideas?
