That's amazing. Thanks for posting. Thats exactly the type of thing I'd love to do with my truck. Although I'd love to know what these guys do for a living. 5-6 trips in 2 years. Man I wish. Awesome rigs.

 

One thing I didn't like was in part 2 when the guy was bitching about the dented fender done by the snow chains. While I agree it could have been avoided the level of anger he had was stupid. To say "things like this hold us back from being able to do our trip next year" is laughable. These guys probably have $20k in equipment and gadgets on these trucks. With a seemingly unlimited budget. I hardly think a dented fender is holding anyone back.

When you analyse the past it puts into perspective the feats of the old 19th and 20th century explorers with a sled, some food and a compass and little else worth mentioning.

I think the guy lost it over the fender damage due to sleep deprivation and stress, sometimes these play strange games inside the head.

Thank you offroadfrance! And remember everyone that the above linked video is only the first installment. There are a total of 12 (I think) episodes available to watch from that series. I watched all of them and it inspired me so much. Apparently the series was successful enough and they are planning on doing a second season. Its interesting to note how many companies sponsored their expedition. Surprisingly Land Rover is listed in the "special thanks" section so somehow LR was involved. I wish I could find some sponsors to help fund my trip, it would take alot of stress off me and allow me to get more of the things I need and be more prepared.

Alas I hope this series inspires some of you to embark on your own overland adventures. And remember that Im still looking for people to join me in April on my overland. Limited space in my truck but seat is still open and your always welcome to bring your own vehicle to form a caravan. let me know and enjoy the series.
