Default hf generator

had a bunch of tools lifted this week. need to replace some stuff asap..... of some of the larger items, i need another generator. i have always used generac for the larger generators.....thinking about getting the cheaper predator one from hf to use as a smaller unit. is anyone using one of these? are they a waste? i have tried the cheap blue ones from northern with poor results....these may be the same..dunno

well, I'll chime in...
I have a small engine shop, and sell Generac, as well as service all makes. The HF generators are going to be ok for occassional use, their engines are "copys" of honda engines, but have cut some corners to lower costs....for instance we've noticed the recoils, and valve train are some of the short comings....for the money thought , they're not a bad buy as long as you are willing to "baby" it a little and arent using it constantly..

I'd stick with the Honda or Briggs engines Dusty at least they'll take some abuse. Kohler engines are also good but pricey. The replica engines are OK for light use but rarely take abuse or go the distance.
