Default KAM Differentials

This contact may be of interest for the serious offroaders amongst you as their quality is excellent I have heard and they make serious HD parts. I used to know them from way back in the early 90's when they first started cutting gears and diffs.

I do know they make a pretty trick electronic locker ... that looks like it would be a PITA to install since it looks like the entire front cap of the axle is replaced by a bolt on piece

With all the effort to install that locker you'd be better off throwing some FJ axles under it.

Gulp... and I still need Ashcrofts, or retro fit DI axles to get upgraded shafts...

And I actually like the 4 pin LSD the best, although a little fuzzy on the description of how it can be anywhere from a LSD, to a fully selectable mechanical locker?

Might have something to do with clutch pre-load?

More research, fortunately I don't have my next tank of gas in my back pocket, let alone copious amounts of ca$h to throw at upgrades.

Also, if DI axles are a solid choice for less expensive axle shaft upgrades, the 4hp22 (sic) in the DI I found around here, apparently is favored for my D24t swap, so KAM axle shafts may be an option after all.

Nothing comes cheap in the UK you guys in the US don't know you're born when it comes to prices etc

If you want to see seriously expensive car spares take a look at the French online sites .................... seriously eye watering ............. that's probably why I buy most stuff from the UK, USA, Germany and China. ............. and even with freight costs it still works out far cheaper and more economical.

True. Though sewer capping is pretty simple and this seems fairly involved. I haven't done any research, but can someone explain the benefit of a KAM over an Ashcroft air locker which is plug and play??

Justin had some in his DII a number of years go. I can't remember what he was saying back then about them. But I don't think he's running them now so they can't be that much better.

The only advantage I could think of is that you don't need a source of compressed air. But I'll stick to air lockers myself.
