Recently I took a punt on a UK D2 forum, what a lot of self opinionated ignorant morons on there. In truth I should have known better and stick to who and what I know on here . On many forums it appears that unless you are part of the 'clique' you are an outsider and to be rubbished and ignored. Such is life, I'll give that one a miss from here on out.

Good to know, I hope others don't think the same of this forum; it's easy to get opinionated once you've been initiated by the trials a tribulations of keeping these trucks running. It seems like there's an attitude of "you should have known better", or "you should have read every post here before buying a Rover", but many like myself, are impulsive when it comes to buying vehicles, and my attitude has always been; I'll learn as I go, b/c I enjoy that process of figuring stuff out.. And I've been that way long before the internet and forums were here as safety nets. I like the live and learn approach, and I like that this little "community" is here to help and be helped. I hope it stays that way.

I have found that the members on few other LR forums aren't very helpful at all when people asked questions. I saw the usual "RTFM", "download the RAVE", "do a search", "if you don't know that, you should have gotten a Jeep".

Needless to say, I'll stay here amongst you fine chaps.

It's the same on some fly fishing forums that I USED to be a member of. As in most parts of life, there are the "elite", and there's the "rest of us". Never the 'tween shall meet.

As far as this forum goes, I've yet to ask a question and get an answer that wasn't respectful and helpful. This is a good forum.

It used to be like that years ago. but things have changed, times have changed, members have moved on, etc.

I have to admit that the vast majority on here are polite, respectful and knowledgeable on D2's and other trucks, it's a pity that criteria doesn't apply to all forums. I enjoy this forum immensely and would recommend it to anyone owning an LR.

PS: I'm semi addicted to LR's as you might gather but also a total 'petrol head' and a fan of MotoGP and F1.

I hate it here.

Okay, I just said that to prevent the group hug that was framing up in the previous posts...lol.

Continue on...

You can count me out of any 'group hugs', it's not in my nature at all, in fact, I'm not at all or even the slightest tactile .

I do however enjoy this forum for it's helpfulness, knowledge, politeness and respect for others opinions which is quite refreshing in many cases. I like innocent banter but avoiding rudeness or snide remarks as is the case on other forums.
