Question Diesel engine questions?

i know nothing about the LR diesel engines. so here is my question. Is it possible to swap a TD5 for a TDi if the TDi has an ECM as well? would it be as simple as using the TDi ECM? or is there a whole lot of mess that I don't know about? Like having to change the two-stage throttle response?

Me too! I am of the opinion that a TDi does not have an ECU/ECM, its mechanical. A TD5 does.

the newer TDi's do and the olders don't which makes me think you have to swap the ECM as well. but i could be completley wrong.

Pretty sure the ECM's aren't interchangeable.
