What was going on with the truck when it parted with the bottom of its engine? Any indication of the condition of it, etc?

Rover had a Rearend Accident, I was going to drop this in a 2002 Disco but never got around to do it and i sold the 2002. as you all know the Gems are 100% better then the crappy Bosch block that has sleeve problems.

Funny - I am looking to replace a GEMs block with sleeve problems

So - are the cylinder heads still on the engine or were they sold seperately? Would I be able to bring the block to a local machine shop to pressure test, etc?
