Used Purchas Question
I am looking to replace a GL 450 w RR, either long wheel base or regular. My question for the group is what features are a need to have and or what model years to avoid. From what I can read 2018 and newer is important. I am inclined towards the V6 motor, hopefully more reliable.
Anything else I should look out for? I am looking a 40-50k mile example, I know I wont get a warranty, but any things to watch out is appreciated.
Thanks

Just check the carfax and all car maintenance records. The V6 engine is very reliable, but the Range Rover is a complicated car with loads of electronics, so if you can get an extended warranty, I highly recommend you do so. If you are buying from an individual, I recommend paying a professional to evaluate the needs and condition of the particular car you are considering. It is best to buy a CPO Range Rover from a Land Rover dealer. You will pay more for a CPO, but it will give you peace of mind for the duration of the warranty. Look at cargurus.com and you will see plenty of CPO's for sale. Good luck with your purchase.
Thanks, I am thinking perhaps the Carmax warranty is worthwhile. It seems to be fairly strong. I am interested in the CPO, will look at cargurus.
I think i am getting a PPI regardless. And a single owner.

Any warranty is better than none. Make sure you read the fine print of what the warranty covers and does not. You definitely want a warranty that covers all the electronics in the car, and not just a powertrain warranty. Replacing electronics from screens and displays will run into the thousands. I had a 2018 Range Rover that needed one of locks replaced, and that was an $1100.00 job, but the repair was covered under warranty. Good luck.
