Default 2001 P38. Cannot shift out of park.

Starts. Brake lights and turn signals work. Starts without the brake being depressed. Will not shift out of Park with or with out the brake being depressed. With the brake pressed and you try to move the shift handle out of Park you hear a little click under the dash near the pedals. Brake light switch was replaced about two or three years ago.

Brake light switch again? Don’t recall hearing the click when I tried to move the shift handle when the switch failed in the past?

Sorry for a late reply. There is a solenoid at the shifter console that should pull a lock pin out of the way to let you shift. IIRC it’s not that hard to get at.
