I have a 2013 Range Rover Sport GT limited edition that through the rods due to timing going out. Ive had the entire motor rebuilt from the ground up and going to start for the first time found out that the ECM has been destroyed. How that happened no clue, the shop said it looked like someone deliberately opened the ECM casing and took a grinder to it. My question is can I buy a used ECM from car-part or somewhere similar and have it reprogrammed and installed?? The shop that it is currently sitting at is saying that it's not possible and they can only install brand new from factory in order to reprogram. Any help or advice on this issue would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you
