Default 1997 Land Rover Discovery I

I have a 1997 Land Rover Discovery I that needs someone with mechanical skills and time that I do not have. The truck has new MAF sensor, ignition, 8mm spark plug wires and plugs, fuel pump and thermostat. It had ALL fluids flushed and changed less than 50 miles ago. It has new tires with less than 200 miles on them. The interior is in good shape, except the front seats have large rips, so it has seat covers right now. 4 Wheel drive works. Mileage is 160735.

Most of the interior electrical switches do not work. I replaced the mechanisms for the front two windows, but the rear windows do not work. The switches for the sunroofs also need replaced.

The bad; the car will not go above 2500 rpm. I have posted on the forums for ideas on how to fix it as my mechanic is stumped. I am a medical student and I just don't have the time or money to put into it right now.

The fluid on the ground in the pics is not from the Land Rover! The car is located in Southern New Mexico.

$1250.

a picture of the engine bay would be very helpful. Given the location I suspect there is no rust, but pictures of the base of C pillars is also quite helpful. Those wheels suggest it is a 96. the VIN would be definitive.

Some additional pics. Also made me remember the alternator is new as well.

nice truck. pretty clean. I wish it were not so far away from me.

The specific part of the C pillar that is of concern is circled in red. I'd be surprised if your truck has any rust given the location.

Buy it Shift....do eeeeeeet. Make us all jealous!

Please don't scrap it. I'll give you $300 for it and figure out a way to get it here if it comes to it.

I know this truck doesn't want to rev past 2,800RPM, but I didn't know you have an aftermarket MAF on that thing. GEMS don't like the generic China MAF's! Either Lucas or Sagen MAF's. You might wanna try to locate a good used MAF and try that before selling it. If I had the $$$$, and I was closer I'd buy it no questions asked. It's nearly identical to my very first LR that I ever owned.
