They look interesting, but 4' is sort of on the short side. For me anyway. I wouldn't buy them.

Hmmm it would appear you did not read my first post. I said I HAVE 4 foot ones but make them any length you want. I prefer to do that so people can get whatever they want.
what size do you think is best? 5? 6? <?

i like 5'. they run the length of my rack. 6 ft i would have trouble storing.

Yeah, I missed the last sentence. Yeah, 5' is better all around.
I'm curious though, aside from price, why are yours better than the Mantec? A proven product obviously has a marketing advantage.

What I have found that the ones I make compared to all I have seen is traction. mine have flat ribs across them like a latter so you can put them at 45 degrees with muddy tires and still grip them.
thanks for the though on 5'. I find it interesting that 2 of you say its best. the ones I use the most are 3.5' its not very often I use longer. most of the time it would get in the way.

I used 8 foot 2by10 boards years ago on the Florida beaches if I got my 67 Chevy van stuck. I like the idea of them fitting the full length on the side of a roof rack or something on that order.

And 5 foot would be alot more usable than 4 footers on most off-road applications.
