yes chain. believe it or not some guys use chain to pull trucks. i know that is far fetched to believe that but it happens everyday. im sure plenty of people will find a reason to bash this bumper as well but again this is what i was asked to build.

Hope a few of you like it.

Sigh, we may be taking baby steps but at least its progress.
Have you ever thought to ask yourself WHY offroad bumpers aren't built with chain grab hooks built in as recovery points? Just because someone asks you to do something doesn't mean you should.

you have never been in a situation where yourself or someone else is stuck and all you have is a length of chain with no hooks. i know i have and anyone who is ever done any serious off roading or muddin has ran into this at one point or another.

maybe the next one i build will be more to your taste

No, I haven't. Why anyone would rather carry a length of chain(with no hooks, mind you) instead of a tow strap is beyond me. The use of chain offroad should be limited to hauling logs out of the way, not pulling trucks where the potential for shock loading the chain is high.

And yeah, I've never done any serious offroading. Only Utah, Colorado, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. What the hell would I know.

I like that bumper actually...if it was a rear bumper. Consider using a similar design and fitting it to the rear.

guess its just to hard to say "hey thats cool that you have options on what you can run through your recovery points"

and yes a strap is better than a chain but these points gives you options.
