Its a 2003, yes I know all the reasons not to get a 2003 but I have one for sale or trade. It is not in the series of VIN numbers that had the oil pump recall. My plan was to pull the engine and transmission, replace the head gaskets and oil pump and swap for a 2004 t case. But my wife decided she would rather have a Ford Expedition (I hate Expeditions, change the plugs on one and tell then tell me how much you like them). She told me to get rid of it before I did any work beyond the crank position sensor, change all the fluids and install an oil pressure gauge. I like the Land Rover but I have my Duramax and summer car, so I don't have a horse in this race.
Here are the details. Just under 128,000 miles. It really needs tires. I replaced the crank position sensor about 8 thousand miles ago. Check engine light is on but it doesn't have the three amigos problem. The vin for the truck is not in the series of oil pump recalls but the oil pressure is weak. There is an oil pressure gauge installed so you don't rely on lights alone. There is the ticking of a noisy lifter as well. It needs some work but if you are looking for a Disco this will be a rewarding project. Leather is in pretty good shape except for crack on drivers seat. Doesn't have the CD changer.
I know what I have but I can already feel the trolls getting ready to spew venom at my 2003. I am willing to trade for sporting goods, much older project vehicles (pre 1974), tools or something that you may have that I haven't thought of.

What codes are being set with the check engine light?

I saw your ad on CL. I have eight Rovers in the yard right now with no room for any more. One is scheduled for the scrapper so when it goes I'll have space available. If you still have the truck next week give me a call.
Cheers,
Paul
