1996 Land Rover Discovery 5spd manual, Very Nice!

Note: I have no association with this vehicle nor its owner, just found the add while browsing around on craigslist and thought I'd share it with everyone. The price seems a little high but with all the accessories included it's difficult to determine what the fair value should be. Looks like a very well maintained Discovery - few that I've seen in such condition. Enjoy.

 

If it runs as good as it looks, I'd probably offer $4500...

 

Seems the term "loaded" means no lockers, no HD axles, no regearing for the taller tires... not what I'd call loaded.

Insane...I've seen loaded ones here for half that price...with more stuff. Its nice though...

If you find another Discovery relevant in age and miles that includes half the accessories included in this sale, plus a complete engine rebuild with low miles and manual transmission and diff high low shifter - post a link!

I've been searching these landy forums for awhile now and nothing comes close in my opinion. Not to mention the superb condition of the interior. The manual shifter and e-brake boots show no sign of wear, the center console/arm rest does not show typical wear from skin grease, the bezels on the center dash console are fully intact, all the buttons are intact and the seats dont have major cracks in the leather. The rugs are not stained with white spoltches (a result of salt build-up) or dis-colored. The upper portion of the dashboard does not peel upward as is known to occur due to intense heat. The windshield is nearly spotless with no apparent scratches or cracks or holes. The rear bumper endcaps are not sagging. The front end blikers are not hanging etc. All in all I would put the value at around $6000 give or take assuming a little bit of mechanical work is need (he said its not perfect). $7000,$8000 with all mechanical work complete. A very nice Discovery.

Doesnt say how many miles are on it now.

Looks like a chip in the drivers side bottom of the windshield.

The bumper end caps, gaters for shifter and brake, can all be replaced.

5 speed. Thats a love/hate deal.

The truck is pretty, but there is no pictures of the load space, footwell, or other areas where Disco's rot. Its in Vermont, there will be rust.

Why did the engine need rebuilt at only 92K?

How is the tranny and tcase?

$12000 for the owner to recoup the costs of an engine build and ad on parts?

Someone may pay that, especially seeing how people are still paying ridiculous prices for ROW 90's, 110's, and Defenders.

For 12K it should have a Rover Tracks Toy diff swap, lockers, re-geared, and a few thousand more parts added to it.
