Pioneer Apple CarPlay Headunit // Plug and play for Disco 2
Hey all!
I'm finally getting around to doing some housekeeping tasks on the 2004 D2 I picked up last October, and one of them was swapping back to the OEM head unit from this Pioneer that the prior owner installed just before selling it to me. Works perfectly and is essentially new. The bluetooth works great, same with CarPlay. The phone and mic and wonderful. I would hands-down keep this if it weren't for my love of the stock, analog look I sought the Disco out for in the first place. It'll go in any car but is already pre-wired to connect to the Disco 2's stock harness. Removing it was as simple as unplugging it. No soldering or wire cutting needed. I think it took about 10 minutes to remove altogether. The mic was run through the dash, under the steering wheel, and then up the a-pillar trim and clipped onto the headliner near the rear view mirror. Super discreet. And the CarPlay USB connector was run near the driver footwell close to the heater outlet. It can go anywhere though.
Compatible with Android Auto too.
Here's all the info you might want to know about the head unit: https://www.crutchfield.com/S-X2KmA0...H-3400NEX.html
Located in Monterey, CA. New, it's $550. Asking $350 and I'll ship for free.
