What happened to the front drive shaft and at what speed did it happen? They usually take out the tranny when fail too, so is that also damaged?

Also, the damage showing in the pictures is not exactly 'minor'... Does the rear hatch open and close smoothly? Does the hatch leak? If so, is the rear cargo floor rusting?

 

This is 2nd time prop shaft failed. 2nd time happened from a 'jersey rolling stop', so approx 15 mph. 1st time prop shaft failed it put hole in side of transmission case above pan, but sealed good w/ JB Weld (or equal). Replacement prop shaft after 1st failure was online from someone in GA/SC/FL? (somewhere down there with funny accent).

How about 'cosmetic' damage in rear fender. Yes, rear door works fine. NO leaks around door and/or side window. NO rust anywhere on vehicle.
(4) brand new tires and clean interior.

Story goes like this: Daughter's car, she backed into tree @ BF's, was scheduled for autobody repair shop on Monday, but the Friday afternoon before repair the prop shaft went. Never sent to autobody shop. New Jeep purchased within a week and now DiscoII sits in my driveway looking for new home.
