California Compliant Catalytic Converter for Land Rover Discovery SD 4.6 Series II
#21
Of course on the ARB list there is no 2LRXT04.6002, there is a 001 and it skips to 003 lol but does that matter? It's just the 4.0 Liter that means anything?

I swear, I don't know how I let this guy convince me I have a 4.6 lol unless that testing series number is more important then the actual liter size for installing cats.

I believe that you have a 49 state approved cat not a CARB approved cat.

1 cubic liter equals 61.0237 cubic inches. Where ever you read on the truck that you have a 241 cubic inch engine translates to a 4.0L engine NOT a 4.6L.
If the engine is original as you state, you have a 4.0L or 241 cu. inch engine. You'll never find a catalytic convertor listed on anyone's manufacturing list for an '02 with a 4.6L. It just didn't happen.

Okay, so after doing some more DD, it's not about the 4.0 or 4.6, regardless, the test group has to be in the system. They have after market cats for groups 2LRXT04.6001 and 2LRXT04.6003, however, no one is authorized by the ARB to make an after market cat for test group 2LRXT04.6002, which is what I have (ar at least what my car sticker states). So, again ... does anyone have a CALI CAT for an 02 for sale? If you're LR was registered in CALI before and you left the state and want to trade for a magnaflow and want to make some cash ... let's talk!

Acomato, all of the OE cats are the same part number, so if your still works it should be fine. Just don't tell California that you did it because used cats are illegal there, even if they are better than what you had. Totally crazy logic.
