Guy in Lancaster has a couple. Asking around $700 for a full basket and I'm sure he has snorkels.

yeah I saw that on craigslist but found that basket sells new for around $800 so that is no real deal, seems some yards think cause it says rover on the truck parts are worth their weight in gold

^My sentiments exactly. I wasn't sure of your financial situation however. Seems many on here won't bat an eye at spending 30-50% of the vehicles value on racks, bumpers, etc.
I bought a yakima high rise set up from eBay for $60 shipped, and a Rage basket for $140. Something to keep in mind.
Good luck.

yeah not looking to break the bank on something that will hold a jack and pioneer tools and ocasional camping gear, i would go with a large commercial basket if the roof was flat or i did not have sunroofs, if I can't come across used i will eventualy make one

Hi, i'm new to this site. I'm looking to buy a used discovery and don't want a bunch of problems. I realize I'll have my share, but I'm looking to impress NOONE, so if a light goes on and off or a window won't go down these things won't kill me. Anybody have a suggested year for a "reliable" purchase? Eastern Ma - Cape Cod. This is a "go to the beach" vehicle, with the occasional overland use..

Thanks!

Everyone has their opinion, of course. But my .02: The Discovery I (early 90's thru '98) had fewer frills, meaning less to go wrong, and appears to be a little easier to work on. The Discovery II ('98/'99 through '04, I think) is a little mo' fancy and 'spensive. Both are good vehicles, though.

voyagers new are $800, Baja new are $850 this is what I tried to explain to that guy $700 is an insane price on a plain no name used rack but guess he is one of those that thinks because it fits a rover it is worth a fortune
