Default Land Rover Discovery v.s. Mercedes G-Class

So I was looking around and saw the Mercedes G-Class. I must say, from the front, it sorta has a stance like our Discos. It does look attractive and very utilitarian-like.

I also saw some videos of people talking it off roading. Of course with this vehicle cost over $100k, I would rather cruise the city. (Thats if I make 150k a year)

But I am curious on people's thoughts of this SUV and its capabilities. For sure this car tops our Disco in luxury but not off roading.

The G-class (which started out as being called the G-wagen, I don't remember the full name right now) was a very capable off road vehicle at one point. Now they are more status symbol than the off road vehicle the started out to be. I would say the true G-wagen was very comparable to a Defender in ability and utility.

Like AK said the G-Wagon was a great off raoder, it was originally a military truck with locking diffs, t-case, PTO, two speed reverse, hi/lo t-case, all aluminum body, solid axles front and rear...it would have blown the Series Rover out of the water.
I have sat in a early 1980's and it had as many levers as a farm tractor with a 3-point hitch, front bucket and front and rear PTO's.
Look them up on youtube, they are pretty freaking sweet.

Here's another cool one that has a G and a Defender. Starts out showing both but is heavy on the defender during the 2nd half but im ok with that.
