I'd drive one just not very long, even on diesel those things must be pushing 10 mpg right?

HAHA, oh trust me, I've been to quite a few NASCAR races and you would be amazed at the vehicles you see. If you've never seen a bus/motorhome/grandstand/BBQ Pit/drive in movie/hot tub/beer-tap rolling around (With a fresh paint job of sponsors), you need to go to a race. Nicest people you'll ever meet and some of the craziest vehicles too.

BTW, AK love the truck! Newer Fords really have stepped up the quality, and F-series trucks last forever if taken care of.

Discovered something new about my truck today. The tow/haul mode button on the end of the gear shift is mislabeled. Instead of tow/haul it should be marked rocket fuel. Tow/haul mode firms up the tranny shifts, changes the shift points, and remaps the fuel and boost curves. With no load the truck is fast enough to be almost scary. Get on the accelerator a little too much in a corner and the truck feels like it wants to swap ends on dry roads. Honestly an 8000 pound truck shouldn't be that fast, at least not stock. IT'S AWESOME!!

hahahahaha i do that with my rig also.. kills the mileage, but it sure is fun

the 08's have the dual turbo set up so the lag is non existent and stupid amounts of power flow on tap

The turbo lag is the one think I don't like about the Powerstroke I have. My 01 Dodge with the Cummins had little to no turbo lag, especially once I got it chipped. I think the Cummins has better low end acceleration than the Powerstroke but once the turbo gets going the Powerstroke will blow the doors off most any truck on the road, and a lot of the cars.

I drove an 08 with the 6.4 when I was working in North Dakota. That engine is just a beast.

after i got my 08 my boss went out and got his 08 but then added a chip and exhaust.

i have yet to ride in that rig, but he claims it is insanely more powerful. i think he said 100 hp more and 200 more torques
