Hello all
I recently did an oil change on my 1969 landrover 2a, and when I got to the front diff, I had nice, sparkly oil accompanied by at least 10 bits of metal. I would assume my diff is a 10 spline (haven't taken it off yet), and I've heard the 24 spline is stronger, so should I get a 24 spline replacement oem diff or should I get some other aftermarket brand? I'm quite new to landrovers and feel free to drop any good bits of knowledge that will help me
Thanks,
You’re right that it is probably 10 spline, and that they are not as strong as 24 spline. Replacing your diff with another type is a much bigger job than maintaining your original. I don’t think that there is an easy (bolt in) replacement option.
