Default Voltage Regulator and New Wiring Harness

Probably a dumb question but here it is - I am putting a new wiring harness on my 62 Series 2a. Got one from Atlantic British and getting familiar with it. Question - since I have an alternator now, I assume I don't need to run any wires through the voltage regulator as it is my understanding the alt has an internal one. I am installing a new/larger fuse block. Do I now skip the VR and run all the wires through fuse block (lights, horn, etc.)? I understand alt and starter, etc. need direct 12V, but mainly trying to understand if I need to attach anything to the old VR. Thanks amigos.
