Can I get an amen on the "crap eating" quality of these S.O.B tanks !!??
Has anybody heard of any alternatives to these overflow tanks in terms of using a different tank? I'm talking more along the lines of something like a "brother from a different mother" setup. Something home made perhaps? I'm burnt out on aftermarket and OEM made tanks. They should not have been made this way. These tanks suck at handling pressure.
No I have not, but at that price I'm going to get one. I'm curious as to whether it is "better" though. I Will have to run her through. Thanks for the link there.
Not sure if this will help you. This is a
Sorry for the picts, its dark here already. Looks better on day light.
10 year old fix. Replaced twice, broke same spot. Then decided to run home depot get a fitting. Drilled the plastic slightly smaller and forced the copper fitting inside. Then applied JB weld. Cured few minutes. Still got same reservoir until now. No leak until now.
Btw, i heard the ebay ones are thin plastic.
There is a guy on a different forum who told me that he sells a HD unit for $50. It's worth investigating if you are serious about finding something superior to the OEM version.
I have new ones for 50 shipped...The heavy duty ones.
I had a small pin hole leak near the top of the tank where the seam goes around the middle joining the top and bottom halves. That is a weak spot. I put epoxy all around that seam. The bottom nipple is a bad spot too along with the top neck where it joins the tank. I would like to dip a whole tank into a bucket of jb weld and coat every square inch of the exterior. Then just like mama makes country fried steak, Dip it again and maybe once more just for baby Jesus. I would like one of these made out of stainless steel. Then we would be in business.
