Default Locked out of vehicle, key won't fit in lock

Battery is dead on my rover. Key won't go into door lock. Lubed the hell out of it but it feels like tumblers are stuck or there's something jammed inside.

Can I slim Jim the lock? Or is there a way to get the hood open?

Negative on popping the hood unless you break the grill, not enough leverage to push the latch key backwards.

Call AAA

I had the same thing happen to me a while back. No, you can't slim Jim the door. I know this for a fact. Mine isn't an everyday driver so I had time to get an Air Wedge from Amazon and a 6 ft metal rod from Home Depot. I put a 2" 90 degree bend on one end and a loop bend on the other for a handle. Pump up that wedge and slip the rod in and hit the unlock button on the dash, took 2 minutes. When the tumblers have failed it's the only way I found to get in. Once unlocked I disassembled the lock and knocked out the broken tumblers reassembled and it works fine. Of course I could now probably open it with any disco key. My keyless remote has been out of service for a while even after swapping receivers, that's why I had to go this route.

Here's the Amazon link:

The lock button on the dash isn't going to work, the battery is dead on the vehicle

You are telling me that you can charge an auto battery through the starter? Never heard that 1 before...
