nitto grappler m/t $$$$ and I know nothing of them, but they looked great on someones post, the other day

bfg m/t $$$ I run a/ts on my work turds never the m/ts. I get great wear on the a/ts and, while not remarkable, they perform fine in moderate off road conditions....not so much on the disco. she sees a lot of off road and the a/ts are not quite as aggressive as needed.

treadwright $ I only know what I have read, mainly from you guys. very very very affordable even if they wore in 1/2 the time of the claws of bfgs, but am I going to leave a big tire scab on the highway? I have never considered a retread.

treadwright

did I overlook any good options?

Never heard anything but positive reviews on the treadwrights and haven't read of any failures. They are not the retreads of old.

Keep in mind that all of the tires you are considering will be terrible in ice and snow, and maybe not the best on wet asphalt. They will be great in mud and the rocks but without any siping they will be sketchy in inclement weather.

I've got DuraTracs on my D2 and have been very happy with them. I bought them based on their performance and durability on my F250 work truck, plus I was able to find them at a decent price.

thanks 04Duxlf, I like the dura tracs. I have had a couple of sets on my work trucks, in the past. I will give them another look. Just wanting to go more aggressive m/ts....I have been using the winch to much in the muck. and.....

I prefer 255/85R16 on a D2. They fit better. Less or no need to cut anything.

I had the BFG mud terrain KM2 in that size on my D2. There are some other brands in that size too, but not many.

Jafir, did they wear ok ? That was my only problem with the Mickey's, they never wore evenly with a lot of tarmac use?

I didn't drive much on the street. Or at all for that matter. They were a very good bonus for whoever bought the car.

I'd check with Zack, I think he is running them or has ran them too. And there are a couple of people on discoweb that have them listed in their signature I think.

I came from 265/75/16 DuraTracs to 315/75/16 BFG KM2's. The difference in size was a huge gain. But also the tread made a big difference in the mud. The DuraTracs are great in most things, but they're not a mud tire by any means.
Check out the Hankook Dynapro MT. They are pretty affordable and they got good reviews in some mud tire shootout.
