Default CB Install....Done...

From my previous post, I mounted up the antenna and routed the cable though. I repositioned the antenna and locked it down with a Velcro strap...unstrap and pop up at any time.

I mounted the radio on the passenger side of the center console, which seems to be the best place. I wanted to install it in the back of the console, but my son would probably kick the sheit out of it.... The radio has a dedicated fuse in the engine compartment, which is shared with all the other additions...

Nice job!

I'm just curious, because I've never looked into it and I just thought about it while reading this... Could a guy mount the CB in the center console where it meets the dash? Under the heater/stereo portion of the dash and in front of the 4x4 selector, where the diagram for shifting is? I have no idea, just wondering. There may be a bunch of stuff behind there to keep it from being possible.

I haven't removed the console in awhile. If I can remember, all the HVAC is behind there.

That would make sense... for the rear vents. OK, thanks. You did a nice job on the install.

Looks great. I'm trying to figure out where I'm going to mount mine. I was thinking about hiding it under the seat of my '98 and running an external speaker and a mic extension. Not sure yet. I like what you did.

No place to put anything back there that I could find. I want to add 110 v inverter and put a duplex receptacle somewhere that I could reach it without getting out of the vehicle. Haven't found a place yet.
