72 Defender Grill

72 Defender Grill
Newbe here. I just purchased this Land Rover 3 and it needs a few items. I've looked on the net but can't seam to find the parts I need. Hoping I can find some direction here. I've ordered a repair book so I can start moving with the help it needs.
I noticed it's missing the logo on the front grill. Did some of these Rovers come without a logo? And the turn signal lever is gone, It must have broken off. The dash is a bit torn up as well. My uncle owned one of these back in the 60's in the country of Honduras when I was a kid. This is the first time I've owned one or even had the chance of driving one.
Has anyone modified the dash and converted to a earlier dash that sits the gauges in the center? And is it possible to get these early dash parts?
Any help with locating these would be helpful. As I move along I'm sure I'll be needing more things. I'll try to post up some pictures. Thanks.

If it's metal it might be an aftermarket replacement like this one from Rocky Mountain.

You could maybe get an emblem from a series 2a and attach it to it.

I like the metal one you have. If it were mine I'd keep that and add a series 2 type badge to it:

I'm not really an expert on series. The series 3 dash top isn't available anymore, as far as I know, but there are some places that may have some NOS part hoarded away. One website said they had them, but they'd only sell it to you if you're doing a full restoration.
As far as converting to the series 2/2a style dash, I don't know. That might be a question to ask on the roversnorth forum or defendersource or one of the other places that have more series owners posting. I think there is one out there called guns and rovers or something like that.
An option might be to have your dash re-covered or repaired.
