Default what after market gauges would be useful?

I'm thinking of adding some gauges to the disco since the factory instrumentation is woefully inadequate. So far what i have as "must haves" are an accurate coolant temp gauge, oil pressure and oil temp. I'm thinking about getting a 3 gauge pod to mount on the dash on that flat area in the middle. Are there any other gauges that would be useful? I'm thinking of getting an ultragauge since it will display the ECU coolant temp, battery voltage and a/f ratios. So in my 3 gauge pod that leaves me with a blank spot. I was thinking an EGT gauge but to be effective on a v8 you'd have to run a dual unit which are spendy and i only have a single unit sitting around collecting dust. I'm thinking maybe an ammeter would fill in the void..

What say ye?

Transfer case temp? Oil temp? And speaking of oil, could sender adapters be introduced on the line to the radiator oil cooler (it is just after the oil pump I think)?

I dont see why not, just have to find the thread pitch and find an adapter to suit or bodge something together to suit..

I was thinking the hydraulic shop might have some sort of adapter to screw in-line with the oil line at the radiator, with a threaded port to go to whatever was desired.

+1 for oil temp and pressure. for your third, if you're already going to have an UltraGuage, I'd do trans fluid temp. If you're going to skip the UG I'd go with Voltage; I really like to know when my alternator is failing.

I like the idea of Voltage or maybe your trans temp. I don't know of a gauge that reads trans temp though... Enlighten us! I personally have the glowshift gauges and they work great now that the oil psi gauge got fixed by them. I like them (again) lol

You can get a sender for any heat range. Tranny has a temp switch, and so does the transfer case in many models. But these two gauges also need to be on the short list:
