My original radio was the Sat Nav unit and I am changing it to a pioneer head unit. To keep my steering wheel controls, I purchased the correct PAC swi-rc unit, but cant for the life of me track down the correct wire from the original harness that controls the steering wheel controls.
I have seen a ton of different diagrams, and many have contradicting info. The info from Pac says to connect their white wire to the stock "Grey/Red" on the original harness, but I dont see any wire that color.
Has anyone done this? Any one with any help?
I have attached two pics of my harness connections with contradicting info. R/C is remote control, and these have them in different spots. Which one is correct?
Thanks
Nick
It's a small pink (I think - color blind) wire in the green iso block on the back of the radio.
There's already a converter in place that converts the wheel controls. The sat-nav unit is in essence an aftermarket radio (re-badged Becker Traffic Pro). I've always been curious as to whether or not another converter was necessary when swapping the sat-nav for another aftermarket unit. The factory converter box signal is spliced in with the main communications wire so I suspect it just converts to single wire I-Bus but would love to know for certain.
Do you mind hooking up the wheel switch wire to your new radio without the pac converter to see if it works?
The grey/red wire they're referring to comes in before the converter. The factory converter box is located behind the climate control panel.

Thanks for the help. Yes, I knew there was a converter in place, and have just learned that it lives just behind the climate control panel.
For research purposes, I would love to try the hookup without the pac unit, but how would I connect the small pink wire you mentioned into the headphone looking remote jack on the aftermarket unit I am using?
