Thank you guys!
Disco oh no: I don't have a test light but I'll get one today
Army rover: I did break the valve cover breather plug on the intake, and I was going to fix that after I figure out the misfires. I've been holding it up to the intake to see if it smooths out the idle and it does not.
So today I'm going to rent a compression checker, and go to harbor freight for that tool.
After I check compression I'm going to take the manifold back off and check the power at the harness plugs into the coil. I read someone had a similar issue because they had a bad ignition switch and the computer would cut power to the coils long enough to create a misfire...I do have ignition switch issues.
Anyone have a good way to check the injectors?

No compression cyl 5 even after I put oil in it.
done with a cold engine. 3-5 compression strokes each time
Do I have to do it with the engine warm because damn, I'll burn the hell out of my hands. Also I don't remember if I held the throttle open.
cyl 2 = 145
cyl4 =110
cyl 6 = 125
cyl 8 = 120
cyl 1 = 115
cyl 3 = 120
cyl 5 = 0
cyl 7 = 120

well the exhaust valve on cyl 5 is stuck in the down position. So now I'm taking the heads off. I got it to the point to where I'm doing the head bolts, and yep...pain in the *** 1st one is stuck...I have a 2 foot Matco breaker that hasn't worked so I'm off to Home Depot for some pipe and I'm gonna make it in to a 4 foot breaker. And buy an impact socket as my sockets are craftsman, but my wrenches are Matco
