Default Need help fitting light bar to SD roof rack

Ordered a 40" led light bar. Got up on the roof to see if the bar would directly bolt onto the mounting holes on the SD roof rack but its a no-go. The way the front of the SD rack is designed makes it almost impossible to mount a light bar across the front of the rack. I could slide the light bar underneath the rack and get it pretty close to the mounting holes on the rack but then it would not look right anyways. Any useful suggestions? Im thinking about stopping by Home Depot or lowes, but those department stores are huge and I have no idea what Im looking for exactly. I know some of you can identify a problem and think of a specific solution just like that. So I was hoping someone had some ideas.

I noticed that for most of you using a SD rack, you have the 4 individual hella lights setup which is alot easier to work with but I have not seen many pictures of light bars mounted to the SD rack before. I also noted that some roof racks have an additional adaptor mounting bracket on the front of the rack. M<ine does not have that.

2 bicycle seat post clamps(clamp onto SD rack) and 2 90 degree shelf support brackets(clamp in between opening of bicycle seat post clamp). Attach light bar to angle bracket.

Just went to a bike shop and examined their biggest bike seat post clamp and unfortunately that will not work for this application because the clamps do not open up in order to wrap it around the tube construction of the sd rack. Here are some pictures of the brackets included with my light bar.

I would try to find a bracket at lowes or Home Depot similar to this.

Shop Stanley-National Hardware 4-Pack 0.5-in x 0.75-in Zinc-Plated Flat Braces at Lowe's

If you found the right size you could possibly point the brackets on the light bar straight back and have enough room to mount the light in front of the rack like you wanted. If it worked then I would paint the brackets black and call it good.

I just reread and saw that's basically what abran said. I thought the light mounts and rack holes were close enough you wouldn't need the clamps though.

Yes there are 4 mounting points on the front of the roof rack. But they were intended for small off-road lights like the hella's most commonly used with these racks. The bars that curve down just before the mounting points are in the way so you cant event position the light bar over the mounting points.

Im working on what Abran said. Getting this light bar to work and to get it mounted has been nothing but a problem...

Anybody know off hand what the outer circumference is for the tubes on a SD roof rack? Im looking at some universal mounts online and I need to make sure i get the rights ones that will clamp over the tubular construction of my SD roof rack.
