Repairing Split Brake Hard Line
#12
x1 copper is OK for early non power brakes but most ordinary copper tube is unable to withstand the hoop stresses of modern servo brakes over time/useage. Also copper is malleable and will expand and stretch and suffer latterly from 'work hardening'. IMO stick to steel brake pipes and play safe. There is also the insurance aspect should the copper brake lines fail as most insurance companies are notorious 'wrigglers' after a claim is made.

Copper isn't even ok for non-power brakes, it still will suffer from vibration hardening and become brittle.
Copper/nickel is what you want. NAPA sells it, PN is BK 6413347

Did the drivers side rear replacement with copper/nickle and my own bubble flares. All went well once I got the front of the line disconnected, it was really frozen onto the flex line. That’s the only line that was leaking (for now) but i’ll let the next owner replace the other side (i’m fixing up to sell as we inherited another 4x4 from my dad).
