Starters you have to bang. Either stuck, and banging frees it. Or it's a connection and by the time you've find something to bang it and knocked stuff around it magically works.
Defo check connections first.
Are starters easy to get to on these?

Here is my experiences with a starter issue. I bought my truck recently with service records and they indicated the starter was recently replaced and had only 300 miles on it. I had starter issues almost immediately after buying it. After doing all electrical diagnosis I concluded that there was no problem with the battery or connections so I proceeded to remove the starter. When I pulled the starter I saw that the Bendix cover was shredded. The tolerances with this starter were off causing interference with the flywheel.
Of course it was some el-cheapo no-name starter so I proceeded to exchange this for a re-manufactured Bosch starter. Put that Bosch starter in and my truck has gone thousands of miles starter-trouble-free.
Lesson: Do not use cheap parts in your vehicle use Bosch, OEM, or other name brands recommended on this board and you can save yourself a lot of grief.
