Paint for headliner?
#2
on the fabric or the metal roof?
For the fabric, the SEM coatings could work ok, but the foam and adhesive usually deteriorate and it's just better to replace it all. I never tried headliner, but I've seen SEM products work out fine on vinyl, plastic, and carpet.
For the metal, I don't have any experience. I've seen bedliner stuff, but don't really get the point of it. I have good results in general with VHT Chassis and Roll Bar Paint in "Satin Black." It dries fast, isn't especially prone to dripping or running, and always looks even. The "Gloss Black" isn't too glossy but it gives an uneven sheen. I use the satin on bumpers, sliders, axles, rods, arms, all kinds of undercarriage stuff. It makes junk look brand new.

I used a quart of white primer (3 coats rolled on I believe) and at least two cans of beige nothing fancy spray paint. I also had to remove the jump seats to get the roof back in without putting creases in the paint. I think it turned out great. Definitely a LOT better than an attempt at applying new fabric would have been.
