is it that bad?
hello everyone
I have owned various discos and one LR3(short time) and my experience with these cars has been positive.Right now I own a 2004 disco; 58000miles, which has been flawless.I am thinking of buying an 08 LR2 but this rdiff issue is luring me off.Can anybody tell me if this an inminent problem or is it a small percentage that have these problem and since it is such an expensive one ; that it is blown out of proportion?Any info would greatly be appreciated. Also is there any less expesive fix to this issue.Once again Thanks!

We had an 08 up to about 60K miles. Did not experience the rear diff on that car although we had the failing alternator due to coolant leak and gas gauge failure issues. Beyond that it was flawless and drove as delightful from day 1 to the day we traded it almost six years later. Our 10 LR2 had the rear diff issue but was covered by warranty.

By now most of the 08 LR2's probably have at least 75K miles on them. So by this point, I think it's a safe bet that the rear diff problem would have already occurred and been repaired, or it's not going to happen.
I just realized the original post is over a year old ....
