Default 2011 LR2 ABS replacement

Have 3 amigos showing on dash and scan tool says ABS motor problem. Have used ABS unit ready to install. Need some instruction on how best to remove old and install new... Remove entire battery box? What bolts to remove on battery box (have three near rear of box bottom that are small square nubs... are these fastners, drains?)? Is there a better way to access ABS unit... driver side between battery and firewall... All advice instruction helpful
Thanks

Here is a search on freel2.com, I assume you tried the search function here and downloaded the shop manual also found on this site?
If you are certain it's the ABS module, it's possible that it will need to be 'married' to the ECU/BCM with JLR SDD software and programmer.

FL2 is the Euro version of the LR2.

Your profile says you are located in Florida. In that case, do you really need ABS? I can see the value of ABS if you live somewhere with a lot of snow, ice, and heavy rain (although I drove in those conditions as a teenager before ABS became standard). Now I live in a climate without extreme road conditions and if my ABS failed, I would just disconnect it. It's another point of complexity and cost that many drivers don't need.

LR2driver, Seems the ABS should be corrected regardless of location for safety, rain, mud, everyday antilock. Also, bad ABS disables other functions beneficial plus would like to keep vehicle in good as original working condition. Last, get rid of the three amigos!.

what is the code that your reader is reporting? Not the title, but the actual code?

Thor, have searched link you provided and Googled a lot without luck. I have a GAP II BT and Autel AC200, both say ABS motor. I don't have a 2011 LR2 manual... Did not know the were manuals on this site. Can you point me to it.
FYI, the Autel AC200 was claimed to make keys and do an ABS bleed.... Well the key fob did not take and the ABS bleed function disappeared. Autel told me there is no bleed for the LR2,,,, well there was when it first got here a couple of months ago and tested that function. My GAP at $500 does do a lot and does make keys for my LR3 but no ABS bleed and no key for the LR2 from GAP. So will be looking for tool that will do keys and bleed.

If your reader is giving you a C0020, there are three variants of that code that point to different faults.

These are the only three "ABS motor" related error codes, which are in reality referring to a DC motor inside the ABS HCU that drives a hydraulic pump. The motor is not a field-replaceable item.

Read flybd5's post above, also, the GAP should be able to register the ABS module if necessary:

Second thread it might now be only up to 2010????? Check through the entire thing.
