Default Adding a Fairing to SD Roof Rack?

Anyone here added a Yakima/Thule/knock-off brand fairing to an SD rack? Baja Racks come with a fairing so I'm looking to copy in order to reduce some of the horrific wind noise that comes with the SD rack.

Anyone had any experience doing so? More pics if you've got 'em.

Muchos gracias.

Here's the one pic I found online....

You probably shouldnt even bother, you should just take it off and give it to me. That rack looks like more trouble than it's worth. Dont waste another minute on it, just get rid of it.

Failing that, i'd just cut some aluminum and paint it black

I've seen one local on a Land Cruiser. I was also planning on doing the same thing once I got a rack. The attachments on fairing should directly attach to the tube on the rack, almost exactly the same on a bicycle rack.

Go to Google and type in Thule Deflector....

Haha...I did have it for sale for about 15 minutes in the classifieds, but the wife stepped in and put a stop to that, she likes it too much You bring $750 to my house with a 6-Pack of IPA's, I'll help you put it on your truck

Yeah, I know it would work, and know where I can pick one up which is why I'm asking. I posted a picture of what the Google search turned up, but I wanted to see if anyone had any practical experience actually doing it as it seems fairly rare.

I posted the same question over on a local forum and more than one guy said to add some lights, so I'm going to give that a shot if the weather holds up this weekend. If there is space behind the lights for a fairing, I might do that also as I have a gift card to Dick's Sporting goods that I could use on one.

I think this is what you'll find. Most people with racks mount lights up there and therefore there is no room or point for a fairing.
I have a set of Thule 953 Super High Gutter towers with crossbars. I wanted to add a fairing to it. The problem was the towers are so tall in the front and the roof so much lower than in the rear. By the time you install the fairing on the crossbars and angle it down to the roof the fairing is just about vertical and forms more of a wall than a deflector.

Yeah, this is kind of the point I've reached. I keep forgetting to actually walk out to my driveway and "LOOK" at it to see what sort of room there will be, but I doubt their's much.

Thanks everyone for your input, either way I end up going (lights or fairing), I'll post up some pics.

I took my lights off, reduced MPG to much on the highway, in the city no difference, but getting city MPG while on the highway is not affordable.
