Default WTB AEL fuel pump

Title says it all, I need a fuel pump for my 98 Disco. The sending unit is cracked due to corrosion, it's leaking pretty bad. PM me if you've got something.

I have one but after hearing about what happened to Drillbit on Dweb when he shipped a pump to a customer, I'll only sell them for pick up at my shop.

He sent one to a customer by UPS Air and it leaked a few drops of fuel that stained the outside of the box. Now he's facing potential fines upwards of $17K. He's had to hire a law firm specializing in this sort of bureaucratic litigation and it's going to cost a lot of money to argue this case. Search Dweb and you'll find the thread.

So, with that in mind, try contacting Dominic at Land Rover Salvage. He's near Tweed, Ont. Maybe he'd be willing to help you. I think most American parts sellers are a little but gun shy after all this.
Cheers,
Paul

I did, he doesn't have a used one. I also argued with someone selling one "locally", he asked almost as much as a new one and was too lazy/cheapass to ship it. It represented a 3 hour drive, one way. With gas at 1,35$/litre I'll let you guess how much it would cost me to get it. I only need the plastic sending unit, I'll probably replace the pump with an airtex anyways before putting it back in.

I read the post on Dweb, but what about ground shipping? I was also keeping the post active in case there are some canadian users who could help me.

I'm in no hurry, the truck is still driveable, but costs a fortune to run.

So you're at just over $5 a gallon in Canada. I haven't been up in over five years. My wife and I only land on Cape Breton and the last time we were there is was $.70 per liter. But at least the US dollar was worth something then!

I talked to Marty yesterday and he told me he was fined $7500 plus he incurred $1200 in legal fees from the law firm he had to hire to represent him! I know it was because the package was sent by air but I just won't take a chance no matter how a fuel pump is being shipped. It's not worth it for the $70 I might make on the deal.

Good luck finding one. At least you can still drive the truck.
Cheers,
Paul
