Default bought a new p38 4.6 HSE and its sick already......!

saw it for sale for €1000 as a non runner in my little town that i live, thought id have a look as a doner vehicle to my 2.5DSE. had a look round and checked the fuses and replaced a fuse and hey BINGO!!! its alive!!! went and saw the owner who didnt know i got it running and bought it for €800!! drove it home 12 miles smiling from ear to ear and gave it to her in doors as a new car. its in good nick, needs a clean eas was completely replaces all bags and compressor and valve block!

got in to start her up and had been driving her round for the afternoon, started her and it sounded rough and would barly move so stuck my FCR reader on it that i bought from BBS and found the following codes

on Lucas Gems
010183- fuel temp sensor
011364- no ignition coil activation 4 cylinder no 2-3
011362- same as above only 2 cylinder 5-8
011374- early ignition coil 4 cylinders 2-3

im no mechanic but does this mean there not firing?? im guessing replace the HT leads, maybe a coil and the spark plugs and see where i am then? it was driving fine until this popped up.

I think that code does mean that it isn't firing or isn't firing all the time. Sounds like you might be having some computer problems...

I am with Krazz on this one. There may also be an issue with the CPS but usually that is an all or nothing item. I would say in general any car you buy used just replace the plugs and wires and do all the fluids, this way you can be sure things are in order and then you are not stranded with something that would have been really easy to fix but now you are imobile.

Good Luck.
