Default Question

I am considering purchasing a 1992 Land Rover with 89,000 and was just wondering what to look for. I have never owned a Rover and was wondering if it would be worth $2000. and again thanks

You would want to check all of the normal things you would check on a used car. Obviously rust would be a big one, take a creeper and get under it. Inspect the fluids, pay close attention to the condition of the coolant and the oil. Get it up to operating temperature and observe any changes or spikes in the engine temp. Run it through high and low ranges to make sure everything works. It probably leaks oil from somewhere, so try to figure out where and see if it is anything major. Pan gaskets and stuff like that are not a biggie.

89k isn't very high mileage wise, you may have a pretty good purchase on your hands if everything checks out.

Maybe some of the Classic owners will chime in with some more specifics.
