Default Tire blown off

Hello everyone!
I am new here and this is my first post. Too bad it won't be a good one.
I have 2010 Range Rover HSE LUX with about 12,000 miles.
Last Sunday, on my way church, I got low tire pressure warning light so I was getting off highway to check the right rear tire.
As I was getting off, tire just gave in all of sudden. Luckly there was tire shop right off the highway so I took it there to take a look.
They found no nail or other object on the tire. They said they have no idea why tire gave in.
It has so much thread left on it. I am planning on taking tire to dealership this weekend for inspection. I think tire was defected tire.
Does anyone had this experience? I know long ago, when my friend's tire gave in on the highway, I knew something was definately wrong with the tire. Later Firestone was sued by customers and replaced all tires.

Thank God it was life threatening!!

Jay

First of all, who is they, second, you don't go to the dealer but to the nearest tire store that handled that tire brand.
Since the sensor went off first then you did a run flat, it was a puncture and the chances of your getting it warrantied are slim and none.

"They" would be the staff at the tire shop just off the highway.

actually the tire store would have to order the tire, the dealer would have the same tire and brand in stock. All dealers deal with a company called dealer tire that specializes in OEM tires at the cheapest price. We get them cheaper then any other place including the store. Plus we have them in stock generally. Plus its a michelin and few places are michelin dealers.

Correct.

I also looked at surface myself. There is no sign of puncture at all.

Tire low pressure warning light came on and approximately less a minute later, tire gave it which I think it's very unusual.

All dealers regardless of manufacturer use dealer tire, they have their own representatives for each brand and take care of us.
